COME HERE if you want GREAT food! Jacksonville has garbage food - especially Hispanic food. This place is legit. I had 2 lengua tacos and a papusa on the side. I grew up in Tx close to Mexico, so I appreciate Mexican food. Let me tell you, these were the best lengua tacos I have had. I also spent a lot of time in El Salvador and really enjoyed the papusas. The papusas here were at least as good, and that’s saying a lot. The atmosphere is also great! Love this place and can’t wait to come back!!!!

Their food was so good! They served hearty portions. I could have shared, but the leftovers were enjoyed later. I highly recommend! Our server was super nice, as was everyone we came in contact with.

The best Mexican food in the area. Other places offer better atmosphere and drinks, but no one beats their service or quality of their food. They make simple excellent!

Food was great and service was even better. It’s not a romantic place or an upscale place, it’s just good Latin food with a great family atmosphere. The horchata is awesome. The sopes, tamales, and guacamole was amazing. The salsa was even better than your normal salsa.

We had a nice dinner and had fun looking at all the items in the store, lots of imported candy, chips, bread and grocery items. We had the chicken nachos and the tres leche cake for dessert. Everything was very good and service was excellent. We weren’t real sure when we walked in because it look like a converted grocery store with restaurant seating on the front side and groceries in the back half. The service was quick and friendly. It’s not fancy but good food, fun shopping and friendly people (Lula and Javi).

For authentic Mexican cuisine, we have found our local favorite. On a previous visit, I had the taco salad, which was delicious. This time, I got tacos (theirs have soft corn tortillas, and they’re loaded with cilantro and chopped onion, served with salsa...and FYI the hot really is hot...but also yummy) were great. My husband got 2 carnitas gorditas (Friday’s special), and they were out-of-this-world amazing. While their chips and salsa are 3 or something in that neighborhood, we felt like this was fair, given they were piping hot and crispy, and the salsa was very fresh...i.e. these were not sitting in a basket under a warmer. We experienced good service and thought the people who work here were very nice. For anyone who is wondering about atmosphere, it isn’t fancy, but...who cares? The food is so good, it doesn’t matter. The mural painted on the walls and the plants in the windows are quite lovely. And the restaurant is clean. We are planning to return to this place many times. Update: we have now had the fried chicken, which is served on a bed of slaw and fried plantains, with a side of spicy pickled onions veg. Yummy! My husband got his with the rice and beans instead, which he said was also delicious. On a previous visit, we had the enchiladas, which are still our favorite out of all their daily specials (the daily specials we have had so far: enchiladas, sopes and gorditas, fried chicken). TLDR: the daily specials are all delicious, all their food is yummy!
